Patient transport

Ambulance transport

In order to make a booking for transport, please contact the Welsh Ambulance Service by telephone on 0300 123 2303 (Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm)

When you contact them for transport you will be asked a series of questions that will determine whether you are eligible for transport.

Eligibility is based upon medical criteria which has been agreed nationally by Welsh Government.

Cardiff ring and ride service

Ring & Ride is a dedicated service for Cardiff residents. Their buses will take you anywhere in Cardiff between 9.30am- 4pm Monday to Thursday, and 9.30-3.30pm on Friday – and bring you back home. They can take you to your doctors surgery, but please note they won’t take you to hospital appointments. The NHS provides a free hospital transport service for this purpose. To use Ring & Ride you have to register with them.

Voluntary Emergency Service Transport (VEST)

VEST provides door to door transport to people who are unable to access conventional transport due to old age, disability or isolation.
